Jan Młynarczyk

Jan was doing his internship at the office of Representative Joe Wilson (R, SC-2).

Jan holds an LLB Bachelor of Laws from The London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE, with a year abroad at Sciences Po. 

His areas of focus include public international law, EU law, and human rights. He works as Legal Editor at FromCounsel, Assistant Editor at the Review of Democracy, and Research Assistant at the LSE Law School. 

He has gained experience across the public and non-profit sectors, including at the Polish Embassy in Paris, Refugee Law Initiative, and LSESU International, Comparative and European Law Society, which he co-founded. 

Beyond his professional endeavours, Jan is an avid foodie, traveller, and vinyl collector.

Matylda Majchrzak

Matylda completed her internship at the office of Representative LaMonica Mclver (D, NJ-10). 

Matylda is a third-year International and European Law student at the University of Groningen, specialising in technology law. She has recently defended her thesis on the topic of transatlantic data transfers in the context of US surveillance laws. 

She has gained hands-on experience through her work as a humanitarian aid volunteer with NGOs in Northern France, and most recently as an intern at the office of the Polish Commissioner for Human Rights. 

During her time at university, she also completed a research internship focused on the right to data protection and privacy and volunteered as an advisor at the Legal Helpdesk of the Groninger Student Union. 

In the near future, Matylda hopes to pursue a master’s degree where she can research data protection and privacy rights of migrants at the EU’s external borders.

Joanna Wiaterek

Joanna completed her internship at the office of Rep. Gus Bilirakis (R, FL-12). 

Joanna works on international governance of frontier technologies, primarily AI benefit-sharing. She catalyses Global North-South collaborations to address the critical gap between fair access to AI technologies and the essential security considerations. 

During her time in the office of Congressman Gus Bilirakis, Joanna gained firsthand insights into the implementation of the US AI Action Plan. She is committed to continuing her work in public service, advancing international cooperation on AI innovation and safety standards that serve the global good. 

As for her side quests, Joanna is interested in the role of the Vatican in international AI diplomacy and ethnographic studies of the human-technology nexus. 

Joanna holds degrees from the University of Cambridge and The London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE.

Wawrzyniec Muszyński-Sulima

Wawrzyniec completed his internship at the office of Representative Paul Tonko (D, NY-20).

In order to complete his internship at Rep. Paul Tonko’s office, Wawrzyniec took a leave from his current job as a chief specialist at the Ministerstwo Rodziny, Pracy i Polityki Społecznej, where he is responsible for analysis, research and communication strategy. He has also previously worked at Polityka Insight. 

His academic experience includes roles as a teaching assistant at Freie Universität Berlin and a research assistant at the The University of Chicago, where he spent a year as a scholarship recipient. Wawrzyniec also has experience in NGOs, having served on the board of the Forum of Young Diplomats. 

Wawrzyniec holds a double Master’s degree in history from Freie Universität Berlin and Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies from FU Berlin. 

In his free time he enjoys playing guitar, hiking, shooting sports and learning foreign languages – he speaks English, German and Russian.

Józef Bartosz

Józef interned in the office of Representative Marcy Kaptur (D, OH-09)

Prior to his internship in US Congress, Józef worked for Kancelaria Premiera and Polityka Insight. He advised on several electoral campaigns, where he was responsible for strategy and communications. 

For many years, he has been actively involved in non-governmental organizations, including Krakowskie Stowarzyszenie Mówców and Fundacja Zryw, which he co-founded. 

Józef holds a degree in politics and philosophy from The London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE.

Ewa Jędrszczyk

Ewa interned in the office of Representative Gregory Meeks (D, NY-5).

Ewa earned a Bachelor’s degree in American Studies and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations, both from Uniwersytet Warszawski. 

Her interests span diplomacy, international trade, and migration policy – she wrote her Bachelor’s thesis on migration of Poles to the U.S. and Canada during Cold War. Ewa has gained experience in private and public sectors, working at Goldman Sachs, the U.S. Embassy Warsaw, during Poland’s Presidency of the Council of the EU, and at Polityka Insight, among others. She has also enhanced her global perspective through an academic exchange at McGill University in Montreal and a working holiday in New Zealand. 

Outside of her educational and professional pursuits, she enjoys hiking and running to stay active and discover new places.

Daniel Grandys

Daniel was doing his internship at the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission as a part of the Office of Rep. Chris Smith (R, NJ-4).

Daniel is a recent graduate with a Master’s in Law from Uniwersytet Warszawski, where he specialized in political and legal doctrines. His master’s thesis explored the concept of meritocracy and its application in political systems. 

Daniel had several professional experiences across the Polish public sector, including Ministerstwo Sprawiedliwości, Ministerstwo Finansów and Kancelaria Premiera, where he contributed to policy analysis and strategic communication. 

He now works as a Legal and Regulatory Affairs Specialist at Polskie Stowarzyszenie Fotowoltaiki focusing on legislative advocacy and stakeholder relations. 

In his free time, Daniel takes a keen interest in Polish domestic politics and geopolitics.

Monika Zajdel

Monika completed her internship at the office of Representative Paul D. Tonko (D, NY-20). 

Monika has recently graduated from Uniwersytet Warszawski with a Master’s in International Economics. Her academic interests center on environmental policy and inequalities, which she explored in her thesis analyzing the impact of carbon taxes on carbon inequality. During her studies, she spent a semester abroad at Iscte Business School, and actively participated in international initiatives such as the CENTRAL Leadership Program and the Erasmus Student Network. 

Looking ahead, she aims to leverage her background in finance and economics to examine the implications of the green transition for both the public and private sectors. 

Beyond her work and studies, she keeps an active lifestyle, challenging herself to take up a new sport every month.

Igor Włodarski

Igor was doing his internship at the  office of Rep. LaMonica McIver (D, NJ-10). 

Igor is an undergraduate student of International Relations at the Uniwersytet Warszawski.

He serves as Chairman of the Board of Koło Naukowe Praw Człowieka i Kryzysów Humanitarnych UW, and is a member of Forum Młodych Dyplomatów. His academic interests focus on party systems and socio-political transformations in the Western world. The internship marks Igor’s first hands-on experience in politics, having previously worked as an English tutor. 

Outside of politics, he is a big fan of learning foreign languages, twentieth-century literature and (above all) the Eurovision Song Contest.

Małgorzata Czarnik

Małgorzata completed her internship at the office of RepresentativeJimmy Gomez (CA-34). 

Małgorzata Czarnik is a political science student at the New York University, whose education is supported by the Rafał Brzoska Foundation. 

Her research interests include energy transition, border security, and game theory. She is the author and co-author of several publications, some of which have been cited by leading Polish media outlets.

She has gained professional experience at KKG Legal law firm and the Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, as well as serving as an expert at the Casimir Pułaski Foundation. 

She speaks three foreign languages: English, French, and Chinese.
