Owczarek

Ania has finished her MSc in Education at the University of Oxford. Before that, she received a BA in Education, Policy and International Development at the University of Cambridge. She interned for Lord Bilimoria at the House of Lords and at the Permanent Mission of Poland to the United Nations in Vienna. As a keen skier, she was on the organizing committee of the largest student ski trip in the world – Varsity Trip. During her studies, she was actively engaged in the Polish community in the UK – she co-organized the Ball at the Congress of Polish Student Societies in the UK, volunteered for Project Access Polska and was on the committee of Cambridge University Polish Society. Her interests include researching chess and education, diplomacy, and languages. She speaks Polish, English, German and French.
Dawid
Janulek

Dawid has just finished his Master in Quantitative Economic Methods at Warsaw School of Economics, including a semester at Copenhagen Business School. During his studies he was involved in various student associations, among others he was the president of the Energy Society, head of the chess section in the Academic Sports Association and member of the Student Association for Applied Economic Research. He gained experience as an intern at the Central Bank of Poland, Statistics Poland, and innogy Polska, and currently works at the Ministry of Climate and Environment. Developing his interest in the energy industry, Dawid participated in the Lesław A. Paga Foundation project, Energy Academy, becoming an Alumnus of the 7th edition and a coordinator of the 10th edition. He is also the Educational Enterprise Foundation Scholar. In his free time, Dawid enjoys playing chess and travelling.

Julia is a recent graduate of the University of Bath where she obtained a first class degree in Politics and International Relations. Having a strong interest in political violence and critical theory, she wrote her dissertation on the weaponisation of political discourse against minority groups in Poland. During her studies, Julia also completed a placement year at the Confederation of British Industry in Brussels. There, she had a chance to immerse herself in the EU bubble and learn more about EU politics, lobbying and international trade. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, photography and writing — last year, she got to self-publish her first children’s book.
Justyna
Witkowska

Justyna pursues her MA in Global Business, Finance and Governance at SGH Warsaw School of Economics, as well as CEMS Master in International Management Program at SGH and HEC Paris. Dedicated to the student community and her Alma Mater, Justyna served as President of the Students’ Union, SGH Senator and Student Councilor. She also contributes to the higher education scene in Poland, having served as plenipotentiary at Parlament Studentów RP and student expert in Polish Accreditation Committee. Justyna gained her professional experience in consulting in the Public Sector & Infrastructure Team at PwC Polska. She participated in projects for Polish and foreign public institutions, related to, among others, energy transformation, post pandemic economic recovery and economic marketing. Passionate about music, Justyna enjoys singing, and plays guitar, piano, and ukulele as an amateur.

Czarnecki

Marcin Czarnecki is a double MA graduate in Advanced Analytics – Big Data (SGH Warsaw School of Economics) and CEMS Master in Management (WU Vienna University of Economics and Business). He is currently working at IQVIA as Alteryx and Python programmer designing financial apps. His biggest hobbies are sports and music on which he wrote two theses: "Optimization of the Wind Factor Compensation in Ski Jumping" (MA) and "Influence of the Frequency of Rhymes on the Popularity of Rap" (BA). The latter one was awarded The Best BA Thesis in Poland, thanks to which Marcin debuted with a TEDx speech, titled: "Hiphop. The Art of Rhyming". Marcin believes GDP is not a valid development tracker and any ROI should include environmental impact. He sees politics as an effective means of channeling power to those in need. Having travelled to 44 countries, he observed the biggest inequalities are produced within social classes and nations.

Paweł has recently graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with MSc in Political Economy of Europe. He also earned a postgraduate degree in Political Science from the University of Amsterdam and holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Birmingham. Eager to diversify his education, Pawel completed an academic year abroad at Korea University and participated in extracurricular projects at the University of Hong Kong and Nanjing University in China. His research examined the process of (de)financialization and the evolution of post-crisis financial regulation in the EU. Passionate about international affairs, Paweł interned at the Polish Mission to the United Nations in New York, the European Parliament and the Polish Embassy in India.

Weronika has just graduated from Maastricht University with a Master’s in Sustainability Science, Policy, and Society. Previously, she obtained a Master’s degree in Energy and Climate Law at the University of Groningen and a Bachelor’s degree in European Law School at Maastricht University. During her studies, she also participated in programs for highly-performing and motivated students. She gained work experience as an intern at tax advisory firm WTS Saja and as a research assistant on the right to energy at Groningen University. Furthermore, she is a board member of a Polish NGO ‘Morska Kraina’ which is focused on improving education in Poland. Weronika is very passionate about sustainability. She is a volunteer at Generation Climate Europe, the largest youth-led coalition in the EU pushing for stronger climate action. In her free time, Weronika likes to travel, sail, hike, cook, and read.

Zieliński

Wiktor has just graduated from Quantitative Methods at Warsaw School of Economics including a semester at University of Mannheim. He completed a few internships ranging from start-up position at Jutro Medical to consulting at L.E.K. Consulting. Among his various charity work, the most recent one is an involvement in AWO - Civil Rights Academy, a foundation which promotes civil service in Poland and knowledge about the state. Wiktor’s interests include economic growth models and automation, on which he wrote his thesis, and sports - he’s an active runner and former powerlifter. Soon he will start Master's in Economics at Sciences Po in Paris. His goal is to develop himself in the area of economic development and inequalities.

Kamil has finished a dual degree Masters in European Governance at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. Previously he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Area Studies with a focus on Europe and Russia at the Uniwersytet Jagielloński in Poland. Kamil has gained professional experience with a summer internship in the Polish Embassy in Washington DC and an editorial internship in New Eastern Europe Magazine. In the last year of his studies, he joined Visegrad Insight — an independent think-tank and magazine from Central Europe — as a Junior Fellow and co-authored a report on the need for a Civil Society Forum for the Three Seas Initiative. He is now the Managing Editor at Visegrad Insight. Kamil is passionate about transportation and international relations, and writes texts for Visegrad Insight about infrastructure, the Three Seas Initiative and regional developments within Central Eastern Europe.

Adam is a first-year postgraduate student in Economy, State, and Society at UCL. He has obtained his bachelor’s degree in International Relations and History from SOAS, writing his two dissertations on the postcolonial perspectives on the soft power of the United Kingdom and the shift within the gender and labour during Perestroika. During his studies, Adam has interned at the Polish Embassy in London and Grassroot Diplomat diplomatic consultancy. He was also a part of the UK-based programme Parliamentors. Since 2020, Adam has been involved in the London United Nations Foundations, where he leads the communications team of one of the largest MUN conferences in the world. In his free time, Adam is on a quest to find the best pasteis de nata and attend all of the V&A’s exhibitions. Even though his schedule is usually busy, he tries balancing learning three languages (Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish).

Paweł recently graduated from the London School of Economics after completing a postgraduate course in Development Studies with an African Specialism. Before that, he studied European Social and Political Studies at the University College London. His studies included a Year Abroad during which he spent one term at Sciences Po Paris in France and one term at the Universitat de Valencia in Spain. Throughout his academic career he actively pursued opportunities to expand his interest in European and International affairs, by gaining interning experience in the EU Parliament in Brussels, EU Commission Representation to the UK and the Polish Embassy in London. In his spare time, he is an ardent follower of Premier League football and ski jumping competitions.
